Well it finally got cold. COLD! Down to 18 degrees last week and icy rain predicted for this week. Time to watch over newly emerging buds and bulbs with crossed fingers. Time to wander the garden and admire the last of the winter seed pods. Time to prune back old grasses and plants will soon be ready to spring forth. Time to anticipate Spring! Winter, a lingering season, is a time to gather golden moments, embark upon a sentimental journey, and enjoy every idle hour.
Go to the winter woods: listen there, look, watch, and the dead months will give you a subtler secret than any you have yet found in the forest. |
