The Program is "Jewels of the Garden" and the speaker is Ernest Koons from Lazy K Nursery who will discuss Native Azaleas and how to find the best ones for our particular surroundings.
HOW TO GARDEN FOR WILDLIFE
1. Food. Grow native plants, including trees,
shrubs and other plants that offer foods such as
acorns, nuts, berries, seeds, pollen.
2. Water. Make water available for drinking and
bathing.
3. Cover. Provide protection against the
elements and predators, e.g., densely planted
shrubs, evergreens, hollow logs, brush piles.
4. Places to raise young. Build /install
birdhouses and nesting shelves.
