MEMBERSHIP NEWS
The March luncheon was well attended and the new officers installed: Joyce & Rosanne, co-presidents; Sterling, first vice president; Lana, second vice president; Bonnie, Treasurer; June, recording secretary; Maria, corresponding secretary, and Carleen, parliamentarian.

Joyce, Carleen, Margo, Sterling and Rose attended the DeKalb Federation Awards Luncheon. The Dunwoody Garden Club received seven awards:
1. Perfect Attendance at Federation Meetings (thank you, Margo);
2. Honorable Mention, Yearbook;
3. First Place, Mini Flower Show;
4. First Place, Friends of Birds, Margo;
5. Second Place, Horticulture, Margo;
6. Second Place, Butterfly Garden, Margo;
7. Certificate of Recognition for the club’s excellence in achievements.

IN THE GARDEN
Try these evergreen screens:
Cryptomeria japonica, Japanese Cedar: Medium growth; full sun; roots moist.
Pyramidal with pleasant cedar scent. Can grow to 50’-60’ tall at best; “compacta”, 45’ or less.
Arborvitae: Many varieties. Medium to fast growth; full sun/semi-sun; roots moist. Once established in good conditions, Green Giant can grow 3 feet per year. Emerald Green holds its color well in winter.
Hollies: Many good varieties. A broad-leaf evergreen with berries.
