This is a wonderful web site called Dave's Garden. I like to use it to lookup plants that I have bought and am uncertain of their planting requirements. Here I can get quite a lot more information - and pictures - from users around the country as well as in our area. Many interesting and free areas on this website.

Membership ($15) lets you use all the forums. The forums cover every aspect of gardening including an identification forum where you can post pictures for identification. http://davesgarden.com/forums/

There is a daily newsletter (to access on-line). And it is free. http://davesgarden.com/extras.php and click on DG News and then Today's PlantFiles Newsletter.

Lots of trading of plants and seeds here also -

"One of the most important things a gardener does is look. The rewards are immeasurable."

(Elsa Bakalar, American gardener)
Crinum

Looks like a delicate spring lily but blooms in the fall here in Dunwoody. Related to the Amaryllis. I found a huge clump when I bought my house and divided it into about 30 plants. When it bloomed, I did not know what it was and had to research it!

Hardy Ageratum - From Bonnie's garden to mine - big and blue and beautiful!

Dahlia - Time to dig and store

American Beauty Berry - this is a really vibrant plant in the fall and a fast grower from cuttings. If you want any cuttings, contact Sterling.

Pineapple Sage - wonderfully fragrant and the crushed leaves can be used with yogurt for a great fruit salad dressing

Still Blooming at the end of October!

We all think in terms of Mums and in colors of golds and yellows and reds but there are a wide variety of kinds and colors this time of year.

Mexican Sage - another autumn sage that grows fast from cuttings. Gets about 5' tall in my garden. If you want any cuttings, contact Sterling.
